Report Printing

LabScanner reports contain patient and test identifying information followed by a list of flagged rules, a data list, and a graph of the data. The rule list is similar to the Flags/Comments box on the Patient Display, and lists both the number of events and the persistence time for persistent patterns. The graph reflects the appearance of the graph in the patient display window and thus may be rectilinear or semilog, may contain a subset of data points, and may contain a fitted line and halflife calculation. Below the data list and graph, there is space for added comments and a signature. Text comments entered for patients using the notepad button in the patient display may be printed in the comments space on the report, if desired.

Fig 11. Preferences: Report
Report printing is straightforward. To print reports for one or more patients, "mark" the desired patients by either clicking the checkboxes in the Patient List window, or opening the Patient Display window and clicking the check button. When all desired patients have been selected, choose Print Marked from the File Menu to print all reports.

Reports may be customized to reflect needs of the recipients by selecting Report Preferences from the File Menu (see Fig 11, right). Text may be entered into the boxes for the Hospital and Laboratory names to appear at the top of the report, and the report title. If desired, explanatory text to appear in small print below the data list and chart may be added in the explanation fields. Separate explanations for regular and peak/trough displays can be entered. The "Include explanations" checkbox at the bottom allows the printing of the explanations to be turned on or off. The "Included added text" checkbox allows text added for individual patients using the Text Comment window (from the notepad button in the Patient Display) to be printed in the comments section of the report. If the report should include flags for only the most recently-triggered rules (which may be most appropriate in the setting of a current patient), "Include only the most recent flags" can be checked. If this box is not checked, the report will list all rules flagged for the entire sequence of specimens. The report data entered here is saved in the Settings.lsc file located in the directory with the LabScanner program.
