Oakland-Shadyside shuttle and bus routes. The Pitt shuttles 20A and 20B run between Oakland and Shadyside. Note that the 20B doesn't run at lunchtime. The 20A stops at the Forbes-Bouquet intersection in Oakland (across from the "O" and the Sennott Square building) a few minutes before the hour and half hour, and stops next to the Hillman Cancer Center and across from the Cancer Pavilion in Shadyside about 17 min later.

PAT buses also run between Oakland and Shadyside. The 71A-Negley bus runs every 10 min and stops at 5th and Meyran in Oakland (both ways), and on Centre Ave. next to the Cancer Pavilion and Hillman Cancer Center (both ways). The trip takes about 15 min. The 71C-Wilkinsburg-East-Liberty bus travels between 5th Ave. and Ellsworth Ave., stopping at the Aiken St. intersection, about a 3 block walk from the Cancer Pavilion. UPMC shuttles run between Oakland and Shadyside every 15 minutes. Route 1 (see below) stops at the Shadyside Physicians Office Building (next to the Cancer Pavilion) on the hour and half hour. Route 2 stops at the same location 15 minutes before and after the hour. The routes in Oakland vary slightly, but both shuttles enter and leave the Oakland area via Ohara St. and stop at Forbes Tower (Meyran entrance, #16 below), the Lothrop and Victoria St. intersection, and Scaife Hall. The stops at Forbes Tower are approximately 15 min prior to the stops at Shadyside. The actual routes may change occasionally with road work, etc., but the stops remain the same. The routes are shown below in purple, with circles marking the stops.

The shuttles enter Shadyside via Centre Ave. and stop in the loop next to the Physicians' Office Building at Shadyside (indicated in purple below). Enter the building next to the shuttle stop, pass the seating area and turn right. Walk straight down the hall past two sets of elevators and through the glass doors into the Cancer Pavilion. Take the Cancer Pavilion elevators directly ahead to the third floor for Oncology and Pathology Informatics or to the second floor for the Herberman Conference Center. The Informatics administrative offices are on the 3rd floor at the end of the hall to the left from the elevators (use the phone outside the door to alert the receptionist or the person you intend to see). The computer lab is on the 3rd floor just around the corner to the right of the elevators. The computer lab location is shown by the yellow marker on the map below.
