Pathology Informatics Training

The Benedum Center for Oncology Informatics and the Center for Pathology Informatics offer training in medical informatics and bioinformatics directly and in collaboration with the Center for Biomedical Informatics at the University of Pittsburgh. Trainees include graduate students in biomedical science, graduate students in medical informatics, postdoctoral fellows, resident physicians in the Department of Pathology at the University of Pittsburgh and visiting residents from other Pathology training programs. This is a working page supporting the development and management of informatics training.

This and the pages linked below are wiki pages, which are editable as plain text using the Edit link at the top right of each page. The display format is for developing content only; the final display can be in any form. Using these pages we can collaboratively develop and critique the training program content from both inside our network and externally. Editing help, should you wish to know more, is available from the links at the top (a quick intro to editing is presented below). You may also upload files to any page, which will then be linked on that page. Wiki offers a change history and changes can be undone (see view history at the bottom of each page), so don't be reticent to edit. Formatting rules in a nutshell

• For the most part, you can just edit text in the usual way.
• Names with internal capitals, [text in brackets], http://URLs , and structured text-style links are made into hyperlinks
• Text beginning and ending with *, **, _ or ' is italic, bold, underlined or monospaced respectively
• One or more non-blank lines are run together form a paragraph; blank lines separate paragraphs
• A one-line "paragraph" followed by a more-indented paragraph makes a heading (use spaces for indenting)
• A paragraph beginning with - or * or 0. and a space makes a bullet or numbered list item; a more-indented list item starts a sub-list
• HTML tags may be used if necessary
• Some or all of the above rules may be escaped, by putting ! at the beginning of a word or a line
